The World AIDS Day 2023 Candle Light Event, organized by We at New Bus Stand, Karaikal, saw the participation of over 100 individuals, including high-risk groups, students, and local community members. With the theme "LET COMMUNITIES LEAD," the event focused on the pivotal role communities play in the fight against HIV. Dr. Sivarajkumar, the Chief Guest, addressed the importance of combating stigma and discrimination against those living with HIV, advocating for their equality and rights. The event featured a Flash Mob and Street Play by college students, raising awareness about HIV, human rights, and the need for collective action. The program ended with all participants taking an oath to support efforts in ending AIDS and assisting those impacted by HIV. This event not only celebrated community progress but also called for more leadership and engagement in the global mission to end the epidemic.
